Education

The Nicholas Institute for Environmental Policy Solutions provides a number of ways for students from other universities and Duke units such as the Sanford School of Public Policy, the Nicholas School of the Environment and the Duke School of Law to engage in research projects.

The Nicholas Institute has research internships open to undergraduate, graduate and doctoral students during the school year as well as internship opportunities during the summer. These range from research on federal offset policy to state research on coastal management to international research on climate change adaptation.

Students can also work directly with Nicholas Institute staff on their thesis or masters projects and take Duke courses taught by our researchers.
