Ellen Gilinsky: Nutrient Pollution Solutions
The U.S. Environmental Protection Agencies Office of Water's priorities have been reducing nutrient pollution in important water bodies stretching from the Chesapeake Bay to the Gulf of Mexico as well as improving management of stormwater pollution.

Ellen Gilinsky, who was recently appointed to serve as the Senior Policy Advisor in the Office of Water, will discuss the EPA’s efforts to reduce nutrients and other pollutants from urban and agricultural sources.
Gilinsky came from the Virginia Department of Environmental Quality where she has served as the Director of the Water Division since September 2004. As Water Division Director Ellen's responsibilities included oversight of all agency regulatory and non-regulatory water related activities. Prior to serving as the Director of the Water Division, Gilinsky served for five years as DEQ's Manager of the Office of Wetlands, Water Protection and Compliance, where her responsibilities included oversight of the statewide wetland and water withdrawal permit program, and the development of new policies, guidance and regulations for wetlands.
