Deep Water: The Gulf Oil Disaster and America's Energy Future

When Jan 24, 2011
from 05:00 pm to 07:00 pm
Where Reynolds Theater, Bryan University Center

William K. Reilly, co-chair of President Obama's Oil Spill Commission, will speak on the findings of a roughly six-month investigation into last year’s Gulf oil spill on Duke University’s campus Jan. 24. The President appointed the Commission in May to investigate the causes of the worst oil spill in United States history and to make recommendations about how offshore drilling practices could be streamlined. Reilly, who is chair of the Nicholas Institute for Environmental Policy Solutions' Board of Advisors, will share these findings just days after the release of the Commission’s final report.

A reception will follow the talk at 6:15 p.m. in Schaeffer Mall of the Bryan University Center.

While the event is free and open to the public, tickets are required. Tickets can be picked up at the University Box Office in the Bryan University Center for free during business hours, 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday-Friday. All tickets ordered online or by phone, 919.684.4444, are subject to a small box office service charge.
