Tackling Tomorrow's Energy Challenges Today: A Southeastern Symposium

The Southeastern United States is faced with several energy transitions in the coming years. Existing energy generation infrastructure is aging. New energy imperatives—domestic, low-carbon, renewable— increasingly play into discussions about the composition of our future portfolio. Decisions on where our energy should come from will necessarily be made in the context of other goals and objectives: jobs, affordability, water, and air quality.

Who Should Attend: State energy officials, federal agency representatives, students, public and private utilities, government agency representatives, NGOs, policymakers and energy investors.

Why Attend: The event will engage a diverse group of stakeholders in timely and practical discussion of the region's current and future energy challenges, offer up examples of success, and define a research agenda to meet the changing needs of complex energy and political landscapes.

Attendees will have multiple opportunities to network with other decision makers and learn about the depth and breadth of resources available from the Nicholas Institute for Environmental Policy Solutions and others working in the region.
