Amy Morsch
Amy Morsch is an associate in policy and research at Duke University's Nicholas Institute for Environmental Policy Solutions. At the Nicholas Institute, her research primarily focuses on collecting and disseminating local climate and sustainability policies in the southeast. In this capacity, she has worked with local government staff throughout the region and provided guidance for state-level climate vulnerability assessment projects. She also sits on the Board of Directors of Clean Energy Durham.
Prior to joining the Nicholas Institute, Morsch was a high school biology and chemistry teacher. She later went on to earn her master's degree in environmental management from Duke University's Nicholas School of the Environment. As a graduate student, she worked for the City of Atlanta's Division of Sustainability where she contributed to the city's Green Communities Certification status. For her master's thesis, Morsch assessed the city's vulnerability and risk to climate change and outlined a recommended strategy for adaptation planning. She also worked closely with the Sustainability Office for the city of Durham, North Carolina, where she updated Durham's greenhouse gas inventory.
In addition to her master's degree, Morsch holds a bachelor's degree in zoology from Miami University.
