Calling All Duke Alumni Attending Climate Week NYC or COP29!
Nicholas Institute for Environmental Policy Solutions
Let's connect!
Alumni, are you interested in the Duke community’s Climate Week NYC and COP29 plans?
Are you a Duke University alum with plans (or potential plans) to attend Climate Week NYC (September 22-29) or the UNFCCC’s Conference of Parties (COP29) in Baku, Azerbaijan (November 11-22)?
Duke University experts will again take part in these important convenings alongside climate thought leaders and decision-makers from across the world—and we are eager to connect with Duke alumni who will also be joining.
Whether you plan to attend these convenings or are just curious, please complete this form. We’ll keep you updated about our plans, learn about yours (and how we can amplify any public events you’re involved in), and identify opportunities for Blue Devils to gather at receptions in New York and Baku.
ALSO: The Office of Climate and Sustainability and the Nicholas Institute for Energy, Environment & Sustainability will host a virtual town hall on Monday, August 26, from 3–4 p.m. ET. All Duke alumni—including those who are not attending Climate Week or COP29 but are interested in the conversation—are invited to join.
The town hall will kick off with introductory remarks from Vice President and Vice Provost for Climate and Sustainability Toddi Steelman and others about Duke’s plans and goals at the two events. Then we’ll launch a discussion about what we can do together to enhance the impact and visibility of the Duke community’s presence at these two prominent climate convenings. We’re looking forward to the conversation and hope you can join us!
