About

Join Duke University for the Blue Economy Summit, the cornerstone event of Oceans Week at Duke, centered on the 2026 theme “From Science to StartUp for a Sustainable and Equitable Ocean.” This year’s summit brings together global leaders across science, entrepreneurship, policy, finance, and law to explore how marine research can move beyond discovery into scalable solutions that protect ocean ecosystems and advance equity. Seating is limited; advance registration required.

Through keynote insights, interdisciplinary panels, and student engagement, the summit will highlight pathways where innovation meets impact—from regenerative aquaculture and blue carbon markets to naturepositive finance and inclusive coastal development. Designed as a catalyst for collaboration, the Blue Economy Summit convenes philanthropists, missiondriven investors, practitioners, and students ready to turn ocean science into realworld change.
