John Virdin, director of the Ocean and Coastal Policy Program at Duke University's Nicholas Institute for Environmental Policy Solutions, will speak at the week-long Global Forum on Education and Innovation in Salvador de Bahia, Brazil.
On Tuesday, June 5, he presents "Our Ocean Economy: The Role of Education in Transitioning to a Blue Economy," where he will discuss educating young people on the role that a well-managed ocean can play in solving many of the world’s key development problems, such as ending poverty and hunger. On Friday, June 8, Virdin will speak during the "Session in Celebration of World Oceans Day: Think Blue – Innovation in Ocean Education."
