About
Resilience investments—from infrastructure upgrades and nature-based solutions to planning and redundancy—improve system performance, strengthen economic stability, and reduce risk. Yet these benefits rarely translate into the financial signals that markets use to guide investment. Different institutions observe different parts of the resilience value chain and rely on their own indicators, making resilience difficult to compare, communicate, and price.
This working session at DC Climate Week brings together leaders from utilities, infrastructure, finance, insurance, policy, and research to explore whether a shared resilience value architecture could help bridge this gap. Participants—including investors, insurers, lenders, rating agencies, and public-sector decision-makers—will examine how resilience value emerges across system, economic, financial, and societal layers and begin shaping a practical framework for translating resilience improvements into clearer investment signals.
