About

The Southeast Energy Insecurity Stakeholder Initiative is a project of the Nicholas Institute for Environmental Policy Solutions at Duke University, Appalachian Voices, and the North Carolina Justice Center. The purpose of the Initiative is to facilitate a broad, collaborative discussion among stakeholders to explore the opportunities for reducing energy insecurity in the Southeast.

Over the last few months, stakeholders have begun to identify areas of interest where subject matter expertise would be useful to ongoing working group discussions. This webinar will focus on Percentage of Income Payment Programs (PIPPs), which enable eligible low-income customers to pay a percentage of their income toward electric and gas service, rather than paying the full monthly bill. Our experts will discuss programs currently offered in Ohio and Illinois, as well as one under development in Virginia.
