Yuwen Guo is a research analyst working with the Conveners’ Network team at the Nicholas Institute for Energy, Environment & Sustainability at Duke University. She joined the Nicholas Institute after graduating with a master’s degree in public policy from the Duke Sanford School of Public Policy.
Prior to joining the institute, Guo worked with the World Bank Group Global Indicators Group on the Knowledge for Change Program Building Green Project. In this role, she contributed to the development of the Building Green global dataset, which gathers data on building energy codes and standards applicable to both new and existing buildings, along with their enforcement mechanisms and levels of compliance. Guo also has nonprofit research experience from her collaboration with the Environmental Defense Fund (EDF), where she provided analytical support to EDF’s Energy Markets and Utility Regulation team, focusing specifically on developing strategies to mitigate gas rate impacts on low-income customers in Illinois amidst the decarbonization of the natural gas distribution system.
