Josh Wilson joined Duke University’s Nicholas Institute for Energy, Environment & Sustainability in 2017. He oversees the management and development of institute websites.

Before joining the Nicholas Institute, Josh served as Systems Librarian for NC LIVE, North Carolina's state-wide library consortium, where he redeveloped the NC LIVE website and managed access and authentication systems. He has also held positions as Systems Integration Librarian at the State Library of North Carolina and reference and instruction librarian at NC State University. He has earned a bachelor's degree in physics and astronomy from the University of Montana, and a master's degree in information science from the University of Michigan.

Josh recommends:

Ted Chiang's story collections Exhalation and Stories of Your Life and Others (which includes "Story of Your Life," the basis of the movie Arrival). What’s refreshing about Chiang's style is that he doesn't agree that science fiction needs to cloak its ideas behind complex riddles for the reader to untangle. His style is direct, but poignant and existential and entirely human-focused, while seamlessly dropping some of the wildest and most creative ideas I've ever read.
