'Clear and Present Danger': In Mass., Biden Moves on Climate without Congress

On July 20, President Joe Biden announced a series of executive orders to address what he called a climate emergency and fight the impact of global warming after Democrats’ plan to pass sweeping climate legislation fell apart. Nicholas Institute senior fellow Elizabeth Losos told Spectrum News that other countries' existing commitments to renewable and clean energy and the United States' need to invest.

"China is pouring money into clean energy development, and they are the leaders in solar panels. They have a huge wind industry," she said. "If we just sit back and look backwards at the industries that we were able to dominate over the last 50 years, we're going to lose out."
