Growing Climate Solutions Act of 2020 Signals Progress

The bipartisan Growing Climate Solutions Act introduced in the Senate could jump-start a market for carbon retained in the soil by farmers, marking a big policy step forward in enabling agriculture to provide solutions to climate change, writes High Plains Journal.

Solutions from the Land is encouraging policymakers to take a close look at farmer-centric policies outlined in the new Nicholas Institute report, "Rural Investment: Building a Natural Climate Solutions Policy Agenda that Works for Rural America and the Climate." The report includes a menu of policy ideas capable of both garnering the necessary support from rural America and helping the United States reach its climate goals through natural climate solutions.
