The Zephyr Song: Hot off the Press – the NC Carbon Reduction Policy Study

Nicholas Institute for Environmental Policy Solutions

The North Carolina Clean Energy Plan, developed pursuant to Governor Cooper’s Executive Order 80, called for a year-long study of carbon-reduction policies to achieve the plan’s emissions targets for the power sector: a 70 percent reduction in 2005 emissions levels by 2030 and carbon neutrality by 2050. Duke University’s Nicholas Institute for Environmental Policy Solutions and the University of North Carolina’s Center for Climate, Energy, Environment, and Economics jointly conducted the study.

In this episode of the Peak Demand podcast from UNC Charlotte's Energy Production and Infrastructure Center, Kate Konschnik and Jennifer Weiss of the Nicholas Institute's Climate and Energy Program discuss the study.
