There is a growing demand for decision-makers to better understand and manage human dependence on healthy ocean ecosystems and biodiversity. This meeting aims to raise awareness of these issues among decision makers and opinion leaders.

The gathering, which will take place Dec. 3-4, seeks to address a number of pressing issues and challenges facing today’s decision-makers including the need for ocean governance and maritime spatial planning to achieve a balance between blue growth, jobs and a sound maritime environment and the growing needs for more effective maritime security cooperation.

Linwood Pendleton, director of the Ocean and Coastal Policy Program, will be among the speakers.
