Experience on the Ground, in the Forests

Since 2005 efforts to include tropical forests in climate policy have gained surprising momentum. These policy developments have been accompanied by a proliferation of new forest carbon project proposals worldwide. International forest carbon projects in developing countries are highly diverse in terms of location, scale and approach. Some of these conservation efforts are oriented to conserve specific fores blocks, others are wider in scope and involve more state, provincial and regional policies and measures.
