About
US federal agencies use benefit-cost analysis to make decisions about projects and policies to implement. Until now, it has been difficult for agencies to fully account for the benefits that nature provides—ecosystem services—in these analyses. On August 1, the White House announced the release of draft guidance that provides direction for how agencies can incorporate ecosystem services into their decision-making processes.
Join the National Ecosystem Services Partnership (NESP) for a webinar with speakers involved in drafting the guidance from the Executive Office of the President. The speakers will provide an overview of the guidance and how it fits into a broader administration effort to acknowledge, account for, and monitor ecosystem services and natural capital. Members of the NESP community will also join to comment on the significance of the new guidance to their work.
The draft guidance is open for public comment until September 18. Find details on how to submit comments in the Federal Register.
