The Rational Middle Energy Series is a series of short films created by Gregory Kallenberg and the team that produced the acclaimed documentary, "Haynesville: A Nation's Hunt for An Energy Future." Through their travels with "Haynesville," Gregory Kallenberg and his team saw that there was a need and desire for a balanced discussion about today's energy issues. This desire culminated in the Rational Middle Energy Series. Several Rational Middle films were shown at this event, followed by a panel discussion that included Duke professors highlighted in the films. Bill Chameides, Dean of the Nicholas School of the Environment, delivered remarks. Panelists were Tim Profeta, Director, Nicholas Institute for Environmental Policy Solutions; Richard Newell, Director of the Duke University Energy Initiative; Paul Goodfellow, VP Development Onshore of Shell Upstream Americas; and Jeff Tiller, chair of the Department of Technology and Environmental Design at Appalachian State.
