Jin Bai is part of the ecosystem services program at the Nicholas Institute for Energy, Environment & Sustainability. His role focuses on evaluating the benefits of natural and working lands that help inform natural resource management through meta-analysis and geospatial analytics. His ongoing projects include synthesizing the effects of timber harvest on carbon storage and how marine fishing affects biodiversity outcomes. Bai obtained his PhD in fisheries, wildlife, and conservation biology at NC State University.
The Year Earth Changed is a nature documentary narrated by David Attenborough. It provides a unique view of wildlife behavior changes under COVID-19 lockdown and highlights the interconnectedness between human activities and wildlife communities and how nature is rapidly responding to changes in human behavior.
