The United Nations Environmental Programme life cycle team is currently progressing single-use plastic products work (UNEA4/Res 9) leading up to UNEA5. As part of this activity, UNEP is launching a webinar series running every Tuesday this October.

This webinar series will draw together a selection of case studies illustrating government responses to develop and implement policy on single-use plastic products pollution—with a particular interest in cases where life-cycle thinking has been used to help inform policy development. UNEP will be sharing the results of the LCA meta-studies on single-use plastic products and their alternatives including on shopping bags, beverage cups, takeaway food packaging, beverage bottles, tableware, nappies, masks and feminine hygiene products. And the authors of the recently published report, “20 Years of Government Responses to the Global Plastic Pollution Problem,” from the Nicholas Institute for Environmental Policy Solutions at Duke University will be presenting on their findings and recommendations.

Join this session by registering at the link above. Part 1 and Part 2 of each series will draw on different country examples and meta-studies. And there will be plenty of time for questions and discussion with all speakers.
