Shell Point Beach Nourishment

State/Territory:

This project renourished Shell Point Beach in Wakulla County, Florida. Renourishment placed 3,000 cubic yards of sand on the county owned section of the beach to restore the width and historic slope of the beach. This project, costing $587,272.88 will improve recreational opportunities and increase coastal protection. The project also installed sand fencing to protect restored dune habitat. The sand for renourishment came from an approved upland borrow area.
