Nature Portfolio has launched a new collection showcasing small-scale fisheries research conducted by the Illuminating Hidden Harvests (IHH) initiative.
IHH—a collaborative effort involving the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations, Duke University, WorldFish, and the Stanford Doerr School of Sustainability—draws on a diverse range of data sources and case studies from 58 countries. It brings together more than 800 experts, including researchers, practitioners, government officials, consultants, and fisherfolk, to shed light on the significance of small-scale fisheries in sustainable development. This new collection presents project findings that fill data collection gaps and includes opinion pieces from the initiative.
More than two dozen Duke scholars from the Nicholas School of the Environment, the Duke Marine Lab, and the Nicholas Institute for Energy, Environment & Sustainability have contributed to the project.
